Diane's Life Saving Courage

Diane's Story

I had been putting off having a mammogram for years, then in October of 2011 with all of the "BREAST CANCER AWARENESS" posts I broke down and scheduled an appointment. Thankfully I did, because the mammogram showed an abnormality. After getting an MRI and eventually a biopsy I was given the results from my doctor that I had Stage 1 Breast Cancer. Fortunately, early detection saved my life. I had a lumpectomy and several lymph nodes removed. Fortunately, no cancer in the lymph nodes, and they determined the area around the tumor to be also free of cancer. Additional test were done (genetic, oncotype dx and the like. It was determined by my very incredible staff of doctors that I should have chemo as well as radiation treatments. GOING ON SEVEN YEARS LATER (although I still take Tamoxifen daily) I REMAIN CANCER FREE

We would like to thank Diane for sharing her story and we hope many will be inspired with her story and encourage others how early detection really helps in preventing breast cancer.

Diane is today's winner of the Breast Cancer Awareness Giveaway. She will receive $200 worth of Stickeebra products.
