14 Tips To Keeping Your “Girls” Looking Perky

Keep your boobs happy, healthy, and perky for as long as your genetics can keep them looking up. Start when you are young or, for us older ladies, do some damage control right now. After all, wearing a bra for 24 hours does not keep your breasts looking younger, as researchers have shown that bras do not stop boobs from sagging with age. In fact, you need to get more involved with the health and care of your breasts to keep them looking and feeling their best.

You probably already know that the firmness of our breasts and how long they stay perky is partially determined by genetics, but there are things that we can do to fight off aging boobies for as long as possible.

Our personal health, what we eat and drink, and exercise can all effect how our breasts look. Gravity also affects our breasts with its downward pull. Having children, breastfeeding, and weight loss also affect our breasts. In fact, our breasts go through a lot during our lives. The best we can do is to care for them, protect them, and accept their natural beauty as one of our assets.

14. Posture

When we slouch, our breasts hang lower and appear heavier. This can strain the skin and the breasts’ supporting ligaments. If you want an instant boob perk, sit up straight. Keep your shoulders back and hold your head up.

Stand in front of the mirror and practice your postures, so that you can see the difference in how your boobs look. Interestingly enough, many self-help gurus, such as Anthony Robbins, recommend improving our posture because it gives us a confidence boost. That means two boosts for the price of one, in my book.

13. Simple Shoulder Presses

According to Cosmopolitan, there are certain exercises you can do to keep your boobs looking perky. The shoulder press is one of those exercises that you can practice almost anywhere with hand held weights. Holding 3 to 5 pound weights at shoulder level, about where your bra straps are, and with palms facing inwards, raise the weights straight up. Hold for a second, and then lower the weights back down to your bra strap area. Repeat about 10 to 20 times.

12. Ice Massage

Cold is in fashion in the beauty world right now, and people are chilling out to reduce aging, in everything from freezing cold baths to cryotherapy chambers. You don’t have to go that far though. All you need are some ice cubes to help tone your boobs. Simply rub an ice cube over your breasts in wide, circular motions.

When your skin feels cold (not numb), gently massage your breasts for a minute. This is said to help firm up your breasts. Women are also using ice cubes on their faces to help tone their skin, so you can target both areas for the price of one ice cube.

11. Avoid Cigarette Smoke

Want to keep your skin looking young, and your boobs perky? Then avoid cigarette smoke. Breathing in cigarette smoke reduces your blood flow. This means that less oxygen is getting to your skin. It also damages your skin’s collagen, reducing elasticity. If you are a smoker, the best thing you can do for your body, lungs, and boobs is to quit. Also, remove yourself from second hand smoke. If you live with a smoker, create an outside area for him/her to smoke, so that you are no longer breathing in the bad stuff.

10. Push ups

If you thought your days of doing push ups ended when you graduated from high school, you were wrong. Push ups just happen to be great for keeping your breasts perky. To do a simple push up, lay face down on the floor. Place your palms on the floor beside your shoulders.

Keep your feet together and toes to the ground. Keeping your body in a straight line, push yourself up. Hold for a second and then lower yourself, so that your chest almost touches the ground. Push back up. Do ten push ups at a time, taking a two minute break between each set.

9. Eat Right

For perky boobs, you have to do the right thing and eat a healthy diet. Better boobs, skin, hair, and overall well-being can be triggered just by eating healthier foods. When your diet is lacking in essential vitamins and minerals, your skin can dry out and look dull, affecting the appearance of your breasts. Avoid sugars and processed foods. Avoid the fast food diet. Turn towards eating more raw fruits and organic vegetables. Get your proteins by eating healthy portions of chicken, fish, and even steak.

8. Aloe Vera Massage

Aloe Vera gel helps tone the skin and can be used on your face, as well as, your boobs. Full of antioxidants, the Aloe Vera plant is a great plant to have growing in your home. Even if you don’t have time for a houseplant, you can still buy Aloe Vera gel in the health food store. To use it, simply massage the gel onto your breasts. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water. This treatment is said to help tighten the skin, and can be used on your face and neck as well.

7. No Sun Bathing Without Protection

Keep your boobs covered when you go out into the sun. The ultraviolet rays from the sun break down the body’s collagen and elastin, causing our skin to lose its firmness. Instead, wear sunscreen on exposed skin, including your neck and cleavage, when outside. Wear a wide brimmed hat, if you have problems with using sunscreen lotions, and keep to the shade. The sun’s damage to your skin is irreversible.

6. Stay Hydrated

Our skin needs water to stay hydrated. With too little water, our skin becomes dry and flaky, and the skin on our breasts can begin to look shrunken. Constant dehydration can cause wrinkles and premature aging that affects our whole body. To keep our breasts looking healthy, we need to drink at least 1/2 ounce of water per pound that we weigh daily. In other words, if you would weigh 120 pounds, you should be drinking at least 60 ounces of water a day.

5. Hand Weight Bench Presses

Another great exercise for our boobs, according to Women’s Health, is bench presses. While this may conjure up images of big men lifting humungous weights to suit their testosterone levels, for our breasts, the process is far less dramatic.

Take hold of two hand weights, five or ten pounds each, and lay back on a bench or exercise ball, face up. Hold your arms straight up and lower them down to the sides of your chest. Lift and straighten your arms up again. Do this 10 times and rest for 2 minutes. Repeat.

4. Minimize Alcohol

Alcohol is loaded with calories that we just don’t need. It can cause weight gain and dehydration. Drinking alcohol also dries out our skin and can make our breasts feel bloated. We should reduce the amount of alcohol we drink or eliminate it from our diet altogether. Make healthier choices when hanging out with friends that don’t include binging on alcoholic beverages or bring along bottled water to hangouts and events.

3. Moisturize

Our boobs can go through a lot of abuse during a normal day and our skin can get very dry. When we moisturize our face and neck, we should also take the time to moisturize our breasts. We should use a natural oil on them, such as coconut oil, rose hip oil, olive oil, or evening primrose oil, and massage the oil into our skin.

We can mostly get away with doing this once a day, after a shower, in the summertime, but during the dry winter months, some of us may need to moisturize our skin two or three times a day. Keeping breasts moisturized helps reduce damage from skin stretching.

2. Extra Support for Rigorous Exercises

Exercise is important to our health, but it can also cause damage to our breasts if we are not giving our breast extra support when we do rigorous exercises. When we aggressively bounce or move, our boobs bounce and moves in all directions. Without extra support, this can cause damage to the supporting ligaments and contracting tissue. We can avoid damaging our breasts by wearing fitted Sports-bras that hold our breasts tight to our bodies and prevents them from bouncing excessively while exercising or doing aerobics. 

1. Keep Your Weight Consistent

One thing we women do to ourselves is gain weight, lose weight, and then gain it all back again, plus a few extra pounds. With weight and weight loss, we are damaging the elasticity of our skin. Instead, we need to find a healthy, comfortable weight for ourselves and keep to that weight. Pregnancy should be the only exception to rapid weight gain and loss. Otherwise, keep to a consistent routine of eating the right foods and maintaining your weight.
